Jimmy and Brooke are both from Oklahoma and have been married since 2009. Together they have three children, each of whom attends Wildflower: An Acton Academy. As a family, they enjoy traveling, playing games, reading, and discovering new things.
As a mom, I wanted a different education for my children. After trying both a public and a private Christian school, I knew that the education I dreamed of offering my kids could not be found within the walls of traditional education. That is when I turned to homeschool. I loved educating my kids in unique ways, allowing them to flourish without the unneeded pressure traditional schools encouraged. Then one day, while struggling to piece together some curriculum, I felt homeschooling was still missing some critical aspects. The question that plagued me was if a traditional school or even homeschooling was the best education I could provide my children. I didn’t want to settle for just ok – I wanted excellence. In my heart, I believed there had to be a better way! I felt somewhat stuck between recognizing that my kids had outgrown homeschooling but not feeling confident in any school options available.
That is when I found Acton Academy a nonprofit foundation that helps parents open schools worldwide. Acton co-founders Jeff and Laura Sandefer opened the first Acton in Austin Texas in 2008 to create a more robust education for their two sons. They have taken their best practices and learning philosophies and are helping other like-minded families open schools all over the world. It was as if a blurry vision and determination to offer my kids the best education had suddenly become crystal clear.
If you are ready to reinvent education for your family, I encourage you to give me a call or schedule a school tour. I look forward to meeting your family.

Brooke Ogle has worked with both women and children since 2007. As an adult she has continued her personal growth and education, always striving to be the best version of herself while living her own hero’s journey.
Jimmy Ogle has always been a learner-driven entrepreneur. Having owned his own companies since he was 23, Jimmy has a wealth of entrepreneurial wisdom. For the last six years, he has been a real estate investor in both Oklahoma and Los Angeles, California. Having had much success, he is now part of an elite national real estate mastermind where the top investors from around the United States gather to discuss real estate trends, markets, and financial planning.
Jeff Sandefer lives a dual life as an entrepreneur and a Socratic Guide. As an entrepreneur, he founded his first company at age 16 and went on to found or co-found seven successful businesses. As a Socratic teacher at the University of Texas, Jeff’s students five times voted him the school’s Outstanding Teacher and Businessweek named him one of the top Entrepreneurship professors in America.
Jeff went on to co-found the Acton School of Business, an MBA program perennially ranked by the Princeton Review among the best in the nation. In 2012 The Economist honored him as one of the top fifteen Business School professors in the world.
Jeff is a graduate of the Harvard Business School, where he served for over twenty years on the school’s governing committees. He was a longtime director of the Philanthropy Roundtable and National Review magazine and one of the youngest members ever elected to the Texas Business Hall of Fame.
Laura lived on both US coasts and in between as a child, then settled into Vanderbilt University for her undergraduate studies in the College of Arts and Science. After being awarded the highly competitive Walter Wattles Fellowship at Lloyd’s of London, Laura worked in the aviation insurance industry in New York City.
Deciding to follow her calling into the world of education, Laura returned to Nashville and earned her Master of Education at Peabody College. This led her to her work at the Oklahoma Arts Institute, creating fine arts education programs for teachers and talented high school students.
Laura married Jeff Sandefer and is the happy mother of Sam and Charlie and step-mother to Taite. It is the inspiration of these children that led Laura and Jeff to co-found Acton Academy.
Her greatest hero is her mother who was a Master Teacher. Her wisest mentor is her father who sent her off to college with two words of advice: "Be curious."
